Difference in RFID id Card and Phone camera birdge activation

Hello!

We recently noticed that if we deactivate a users id card (e.g. if they don’t pay, if they lost the id card, etc.) they rightfully can’t activate bridges, but if they use their phone and scan the qr code on the brigde, they can not only use all the machines, but also (and more importantly) do NOT need to be checked in to activate machinery even tho we set the checkbox for “needs the user to be checked in”.

Has someone else noticed this? Is there a fix or checkbox we would need to set or is this a software problem?

Hey,

I think you misunderstood the way FabMan works.

You don’t have to remove or deactivate users cards to remove their access to your space. You do that using packages. The way it works is you set either a duration of the package (think of this similar to any other subscription, or you manualy remove it.

Cards are permanent. We have over 4000 members in our database, and if we had to manuály deactivate every person’s card when they don’t pay next month, It would cripple our staff.

I hope it helps.

Hello!

Thanks for your answer. helps! I misunderstood the card activation, yes!
but if i understand you correct i would need to deactivate the users package rather than the card, which is basically the same amount of work in the end?
we don’t have super many users that have a habbit of not (being able to pay) paying so its an ok-ish amount of work.
But if i deactivate the package the user wouldn’t pay for whole month duration, even tho (at least some of them) are here regularly and don’t check their fabman all the time.
